HR Day

Human Rights Day at the Moscow Farmers Market

In response to the Aryan Nations Neo Nazi March in Coeur d’Alene, the Task Force sponsored Human Rights Day at the Moscow Farmer’s Market. The first Human Rights Day was devoted to raising funds to help construction of the Anne Frank Memorial in Boise, ID. Events in subsequent years had themes such as Building Bridges with our Native American Neighbors, Building Bridges with our Muslim Neighbors, Human Rights in Hard Times, Immigration is a Moscow Experience, Bullying, Women and Work. The joint themes for 2008 were the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the 20th anniversary of the Latah County Human Rights Task Force. Each event includes informational hand outs, displays and children’s activities.
