We select an annual theme and design prompts for the various levels of grades from first through high school. Winners from each grade receive a framed certificate and a $25 gift card from BookPeople which are awarded by Moscow&#8217;s Mayor at a special ceremony attended by family and friends at the&nbsp;1912 Center. The winning entries are posted and displayed at appropriate locations such as the Moscow Chamber of Commerce, public libraries and various schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The theme for the 2024-25 Martin Luther King Art &amp; Essay Contest will be<strong>&nbsp;The Promise of Democracy,<\/strong>&nbsp;which is taken&nbsp;from an excerpt of Dr. King&#8217;s 1963 &#8220;I Have a Dream Speech,&#8221; in which he said, &#8220;Now is the time to make real the promise of democracy.&#8221;&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Each year a topic concerning human rights is chosen with grade-specific contest parameters.\u00a0 LATAH COUNTY HUMAN RIGHTS TASK FORCE2024-25 MARTIN LUTHER KING ART AND ESSAY CONTESTTHEME: The Promise of Democracy &nbsp; Loading&#8230; Taking too long?
