The Latah County Human Rights Task Force Inc. invites you to attend Moscow’s 26th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Human Rights Community Breakfast

Location: Moscow Middle School Multi-Purpose Room, 1410 East D St.
Cost: $ 10.00 general admission $ 5.00 students/children (see form below for submission by mail). Tickets also available at Paradise Ridge CD’s 117 East Third Street and at BookPeople  in Moscow (Starting January 5th).  Student tickets available at UI Multicultural Affairs Office in the UI Commons.

Program Feature:

Featured Speaker: DR. SHIRLEY JACKSON
“From the era of Civil Rights, to the Era of Human Rights”

             Dr. Jackson is the Chair and Professor of the Black Studies Department at Portland State University.

Dr. Jackson’s areas of research specialization are race/ethnicity, gender, and social movements. She is the 2016 recipient of the Society for the Study of Social Problems’ Doris Wilkinson Faculty Leadership Award. She is the editor of The Handbook of Race, Class, and Gender (Routledge and co-editor of Caged Women: Incarceration, Representation, and Media. She is currently conducting a comparative analysis of the 1961 Cuban Literacy Campaign and the 1964 Freedom Summer Project in Mississippi.

FOOD DRIVE COLLECTION:
The Latah County Human Rights Task Force is requesting that attendees at the Breakfast bring cans or boxes of non-perishable items for distribution to local food banks.

Strengthening the bonds of community to embrace diversity and reject bigotry.

The Latah County Human Rights Task Force invites you to a Community Breakfast to commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr./Human Rights Day and to honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the cause of human rights in our area.

The ticket fee will cover the costs of the breakfast. We encourage you to make an additional contribution of $ 25.00 or more to become a Friend of Human Rights and to assist the Task Force’s community activities. All Breakfast profits and all donations are used to provide educational human rights programs primarily for local students, and also for the community.

SEATING IS LIMITED AND THE BREAKFAST SELLS OUT EACH YEAR ENSURE YOUR PLACE BY SENDING IN THIS FORM BY JAN. 15TH.

YOU WILL THEN BE SENT A TICKET TO ATTEND.

The Latah County Task Force Inc. would also welcome your payment to become a Friend of Human Rights.
